Why Women In the Church?

Why does your church need a women's ministry?

1. Because through it we have the opportunity to address helpfully the issue of the nature of manhood and womanhood, an issue that is very much at the heart of the cultural transition we find ourselves in right now.

2. To have a deliberate, intentional ministry to women in the church because the Bible teaches so much on manhood and womanhood.

3. Because when biblical manhood and womanhood are denied, altered or unpracticed, that results in disasters in manrriages, families, and churches.

4. Because we ought to have an intentional, deliberate approach to female discipleship.

5. Because the denial or the twisting of the Bible's clear teaching on manhood and womanhood is one of the central ways that biblical authority is undermined in our times.

Why is WIC important to every evangelical church?

Behind and underneath WIC's approach to distinctly feminine discipleship is the fundamental issue of biblical authority. If we can change or deny what the Bible says about female and male relationships to fit the current feminist culture, then we can make the Bible say whatever we want it to say. Rather than being uncomfortable addressing biblical womanhood, we should "let the lion loose, let God be God, and let His Word speak and rule in our lives."

What is the purpose of WIC?

Key verse: “Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
(1 Peter 5:7)

Description - Peace and rest are great concepts in the abstract—biblical, Christ-centered, even pleasant and healthy. But if we are honest, most Christian women do not experience much peace in their day-to-day lives. We often are rushed, stressed, and anxious. God’s Word says He loves us and will provide for us, but we live as though we have to take care of everything ourselves. Our bodies are tense, our hearts are restless, and deep down we are exhausted by our worries. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Jesus understands that we are weary and burdened and He calls us to find rest for our souls in Him (Matthew 11:28-30). Join us and see how common your fears are—you are not alone! Be encouraged by biblical and practical ways to experience God’s rest even in the busyness of your life. Jesus really does give you His peace (John 14:27). God truly invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him (1 Peter 5:7) and to find comfort for your soul (Psalm 94:19).

Key verse: “I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.  I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you by name.”  Isaiah 45:2-3

Description
--- A wounded widow, a professional prostitute, an indomitable immigrant, a bathing beauty, a terrified teenager.

Each woman in the genealogy of Jesus – Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba and Mary – faced insurmountable odds that would have disqualified her from most jobs in many churches.  Yet emotional abuse, prostitution, murder, death, lies, widowhood, poverty and an out of wedlock pregnancy are scars that God redeems and transforms into glory on the pathway to the Incarnation, the birth of our Messiah.  Where we might see darkness God reveals His faithful love.  He majestically intervened into the lives of these women to ensure that our Messiah would come at precisely the right moment and into the exact family His Father had prepared. What seems to disqualify them from the genealogy of Jesus actually becomes the source of great hope for broken people.
